Alaska beats California into the Ocean

Quick note, Dennis Perrin at Red State Son has a post about the myth of the opposition party titled "Dems & Doze."

I like the BBC's news website. It's the only major media site I know that has a regular column devoted to the environment. The Green Room, as it is called, tends to focus on Global Warming (in fact, that's about all I've seen it cover, but hey, it's a big issue). This week they're discussing Alaska, which needless to say, is bearing the brunt of U.S. climate policy. My "favorite" quote?
Permafrost is melting all over Alaska as a result of rising temperatures, causing land underneath many villages to subside and softening the soil on riverbanks like the mighty Yukon River.
Think about that for a moment: permafrost is melting. The whole concept of permafrost, last I checked, is that it doesn't melt.

I had originally envisioned this blog as featuring humor on a regular basis... but I'm having trouble coming up with very much that is funny so far this year.
